Who We Are
Since 1954, we’ve called Wayne County home. Many of the roughly 800 folks who work at our Jesup Plant still remember dad or granddad lacing up his boots and heading into work at the very same place.
Our roots are important to us. So is our future.
In 2014, Rayonier’s performance fibers division was officially spun-off as Rayonier Advanced Materials. Both companies will forever share a common heritage and common pride in the communities we serve. However, Rayonier Advanced Materials—with its two plant locations in Jesup, Georgia and Fernandina Beach, Florida—is now a fully independent company operating in the special chemicals sector.
Today, Rayonier Advanced Materials’ economic footprint in Southeast Georgia reaches nearly $1 billion. We contribute more than $4 million to Wayne County’s tax base, while supporting nearly 2,300 total jobs paying over $140 million in total wages and salaries. The hundreds of Georgia vendors that support our plant furnish a wide variety of goods and services—everything from shaping steel to making sandwiches. In total, we proudly employ roughly 800 Georgians who help us manufacture a world-class product that is exported through local ports to more than 20 countries throughout the globe.
